Islamabad: Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Climate Change, has called for the creation of a South Asian Glacier Research Consortium and a strengthened SAARC environment action plan in response to the urgent challenges posed by glacial melt. Speaking at the Breath Pakistan conference, Ms. Romina emphasized the threats to millions in the region due to glacial lake outburst floods.
