Very Severe Cyclonic Storm over northeast Arabian Sea makes landfall in Indian Gujarat

Islamabad, June 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm over northeast Arabian Sea has made landfall along the coast in Indian Gujarat state and it is expected to move Northeast ward and weaken into a cyclonic storm this morning.

According to the NDMA, it is currently at a distance of 120 kilometers from Ketibandar. Maximum sustained surface winds are 100 to 120 kms per hour and maximum wave height in sea is 10 to 15 feet.

Widespread rain and thunderstorm with heavy falls are likely in Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas and Umerkot till tomorrow. Dust thunderstorm with few heavy fall accompanied with gusty winds are likely in Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allayar, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sanghar.
