Peshawar, In an encouraging development for the tech landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, representatives from the World Bank, led by Country Director Iram, held a significant meeting with Khalid Latif Khan Marwat, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Science, Technology, and Information Technology. The assembly, which took place on Wednesday, focused on the review and acceleration of various tech-related initiatives within the province.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting saw the participation of notable figures such as Additional Secretary for Science and Technology Arif Habib, Director General Sajjad Hussain Shah, Muhammad Akif of the PIT Board, Project Director Faisal Shehzad, among others. A comprehensive evaluation of the ongoing projects supported by the World Bank underscored the meeting’s agenda.
Special Assistant Khalid Latif Khan Marwat emphasized the importance of timely completion and full implementation of the technological projects to ensure that the benefits reach the people promptly. He highlighted the unparalleled opportunities that the tech sector presents for investment and assured the World Bank of the provincial government’s full support, especially in initiatives aimed at empowering the youth and combating unemployment through technology.
The Country Director of the World Bank echoed the commitment to bolstering the province’s technological infrastructure. She revealed plans for increased investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tech sector, with discussions already underway with the World Bank’s head office to initiate more projects soon. This collaboration between the World Bank and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government promises to usher in a new era of technological advancement and economic development for the province, with a particular focus on harnessing the potential of its youth.
