Zero tolerance for corruption, inefficiency and incompetence: PM

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his administration’s stringent stance against corruption, inefficiency, and incompetence, declaring a policy of zero tolerance in these areas. This commitment was highlighted through his recent decision to dissolve the Pakistan Public Works Department, an action intended to eradicate systemic corruption and enhance governmental operations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister’s announcement came via a post on his X handle, where he described the dissolution as a crucial step toward purging the corruption that he likened to a cancer affecting the system. He emphasized the goal of fostering a more honest, dedicated, and efficient bureaucracy, which he believes will improve the quality of public service and elevate governance standards across the nation.

This move is part of a broader effort by the Prime Minister’s office to implement reforms that assure transparency and effectiveness in public administration, aiming to restore public trust and ensure the delivery of superior services to citizens.
