Azad Kashmir PM Addresses Suicide Incidents Linked to Domestic Violence

Muzaffarabad, In a session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq addressed the alarming issue of suicides related to domestic violence against women. He emphasized that while the government is not the cause of these tragedies, it is actively taking steps to understand and mitigate the factors leading to such incidents, underscoring the necessity of societal change.

According to Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Haq pointed to the broader societal issues contributing to the violence and subsequent suicides, noting a general escalation in societal violence and insensitivity, such as public apathy towards accidents. He assured the assembly of his commitment to a transparent investigation into these incidents and the implementation of effective measures to prevent future occurrences. This approach highlights the government’s acknowledgment of the complex interplay between societal attitudes and domestic violence.
