Peshawar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Population Welfare, Malik Liaquat Ali Khan, along with Provincial Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah, held a meeting in Peshawar to discuss the Provincial Population Task Force. The meeting focused on addressing the challenges and problems of population welfare in the province.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting was attended by Dr. Salim, Director General of Health Department, Mutasim Ballah, Secretary of Welfare Department, Ayesha Ehsan, Director General of Welfare Department, and other key officials. Malik Liaquat Ali Khan informed Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah that, as per Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s instructions, Family Welfare Centers (FWCs) should be transferred to Basic Health Units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centers (RHCs) from private centers as soon as possible. He emphasized that this initiative is crucial to providing better and more accessible medical facilities to the public.
Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah appreciated the proposal and assured that the Health Department would take all necessary steps to complete the transfer process promptly. He directed the concerned authorities to shift the FWCs to BHUs and RHCs within a week, emphasizing the commitment of health institutions to deliver high-quality services to the people.
During the meeting, Malik Liaquat Ali Khan also discussed the current situation of the Population Welfare Department, highlighting the problems faced and proposing possible measures for their resolution. Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah praised the efforts of the Population Welfare Department, recognizing its important role in the community. He assured that all necessary facilities would be provided to the department to enhance its ability to serve the public effectively.
