Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Advocates for Enhanced Punjab-Kazakhstan Economic Ties

Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has emphasized the potential for increased economic collaboration with Kazakhstan during a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Yerzhan Kistafin. The discussion highlighted mutual interests in sectors such as energy, mining, and industrial development, aiming to leverage Punjab’s strategic position and Kazakhstan’s expertise.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the talks explored exporting Punjab’s textiles, surgical instruments, and agricultural products to Kazakhstan. Both parties expressed a commitment to strengthen bilateral economic relations, with Chief Minister Sharif announcing scholarships for the children of martyrs to study in Kazakhstan. Ambassador Kistafin acknowledged Pakistan’s role as a crucial link between the Eurasian region and South Asia and extended an invitation to Chief Minister Sharif to visit Kazakhstan, which she accepted.
