China Donates Advanced Lightning Prediction Tools to Pakistan

Islamabad: In a significant boost to its meteorological capabilities, Pakistan has received twenty-six advanced lightning prediction tools from China, enabling more accurate forecasts and timely public warnings about lightning strikes.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Director General of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Mahr Sahibzad Khan, discussed the new technology during an interview with PTV News. He explained that these tools have greatly enhanced the country’s ability to forecast weather, particularly lightning events, which are crucial for safeguarding lives and reducing property damage. The Director General expressed gratitude towards the Chinese government for their support in enhancing Pakistan’s weather forecasting infrastructure through this critical technology.
