Islamabad, In a crucial discussion aimed at bolstering Pakistan-Kuwait relations, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif called for swift implementation of bilateral agreements spanning various sectors. His remarks were made during a meeting with the Kuwaiti Ambassador, Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi, emphasizing the need for prompt action to activate the partnerships formed between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the seven agreements, valued at ten billion dollars, signed in November last year. These agreements, covering food security, water supply, hydel power, mangrove rehabilitation, technology, and mines and minerals, are seen as pivotal in enhancing the economic and environmental cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait.

Shehbaz Sharif also pointed to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) as a key element in attracting foreign investment to Pakistan, underlining its significance in the context of these agreements. He expressed a strong desire to deepen the historic and deep-rooted ties with Kuwait, focusing on trade and investment as major areas for development.

The Prime Minister’s conversation with Ambassador Almutairi included an expression of gratitude towards the Kuwaiti leadership for their congratulatory messages on his re-election and an invitation to the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, to visit Pakistan.
