ECP TO DEPLOY PAK ARMY AT ALL POLLING STATIONS DURING BY-ELECTIONS IN NA-4, PESHAWAR

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to deploy Pakistan Army personnel inside and outside at all the polling stations of the NA-4, Peshawar-IV by-election, to be held on 26th of this month.

According to the Commission, the decision has been taken in view of the prevailing law and order situation and on the request of the district Returning Officer.

Addressing a news conference in Peshawar this afternoon, Director General Information Technology, Election Commission of Pakistan Muhammad Khizar Aziz said the step will ensure transparency in the election besides facilitating the voters.

One hundred Electronic Voting Machines will be used at thirty-five polling stations.
