Federal Interior Minister Leads Special Committee Meeting on INGO Registration and Renewal

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a crucial meeting of the Special Committee for International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) at the Ministry of Interior, focusing on the review of INGOs’ registration and renewal of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).

According to Press Information Department, the session was attended by several key officials including the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Additional Secretary Economic Affairs Division, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consultant of the Ministry of Law, and other pertinent officers. The agenda primarily centered on the examination of applications related to the rejection of INGOs registration and the renewal of MOUs. Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of a thorough review of each application and stated that all relevant documents from the INGOs will be carefully scrutinized. He urged the INGOs to cooperate fully with the ministry by providing necessary documents promptly. Naqvi assured that the scrutiny process would be completed within 15 days, following which all applicants would be notified of the outcomes.
