Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Receives Prestigious Award from Asian Productivity Organization

Kuala Lumpur, Federal Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal was honored with the Meritorious and Distinguished Award 2024 by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) during its 66th Governing Body session. The award recognizes his significant contributions to enhancing productivity in socio-economic development through innovative policy-making and leadership.

According to Press Information Department, in his acceptance speech, Prof. Iqbal expressed his appreciation for the recognition and discussed the critical challenges and opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He emphasized the importance of productivity as a pivotal element for developing countries like Pakistan to leapfrog in economic development despite resource constraints.

Prof. Iqbal proposed hosting a ministerial conference in Pakistan to foster a productivity movement among developing nations. Reflecting on the devastating climate events in Pakistan in 2022, he underscored the need for a green revolution in productivity that not only boosts economic growth but also preserves the ecosystem. Prof. Iqbal assured the APO of Pakistan’s commitment to advancing this productivity movement, particularly in collaboration with the developing world.
