Lahore: Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Punjab reports that the flood situation continues to affect rivers across Punjab.
According to Radio Pakistan, the River Chenab is experiencing significant water flow, with Marala Headworks reporting 247,000 cusecs, Khanki Headworks at 526,000 cusecs, and Qadirabad Headworks at 530,000 cusecs. Downstream at Chiniot Bridge, the flow is measured at 494,000 cusecs. The River Ravi also sees considerable flow with Shahdara recording 97,400 cusecs and Ravi Siphon at 98,000 cusecs. At Sidhnai Headworks, the flow has reached about 139,999 cusecs.
The River Sutlej is similarly affected, with Ganda Singh Wala witnessing a water flow of 319,000 cusecs, Sulemanki at 132,492 cusecs, and Islam Headworks experiencing 95,000 cusecs. Authorities remain vigilant in monitoring these conditions.
In the meantime, flash floods have submerged 138 villages in the Multan district and 104 villages in the Muzaffargarh district, although all critical bridges and embankments are reported to be safe. The administrations of both districts continue their close monitoring of the flood situation.
Rescue and relief operations are actively underway in the tehsils of Burewala, Vehari, Lodhran, Kehror Pacca, and Jalal Pur Pirwala, where the flood in the Sutlej has impacted the entire population of the river belt.
