Government Claims Peaceful Resolution to Islamabad Protests

Islamabad: The government successfully managed recent protests in Islamabad without resorting to force, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Danyal Chaudhary announced. Chaudhary emphasized that the authorities exercised restraint to prevent violence and counter misinformation spread by opposition parties.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhary addressed a news conference in Islamabad, highlighting that no weapons were used against the protestors and there were no fatalities resulting from government actions. He criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for spreading false narratives about the government’s handling of the situation, stating that the administration’s focus was on maintaining peace and avoiding escalation.

Chaudhary further disclosed that 900 protestors were detained, including several individuals identified as wanted criminals and 37 Afghan nationals allegedly involved in inciting unrest. He claimed that their aim was to disrupt the country’s economic progress and deter foreign investment. The government, he stated, was committed to thwarting such attempts and ensuring stability.
