Heavy Rain Causes Extensive Property Damage and Injuries in Karak

Karak: Severe rainfall in Karak has resulted in multiple injuries and significant damage to residential properties, impacting numerous families across the district. Over the course of July 18 and 19, 2024, the region experienced an onslaught of weather that compromised the structural integrity of many boundary walls and homes.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority, the two-day heavy rainstorm led to the injury of individuals such as Karshmia D/o Said Ali and Mir Khan s/o Naqib Ullah among others. Furthermore, extensive property damage was reported, with several residents facing the collapse of boundary walls, some measuring up to 300 feet in length, and destruction to main gates, kitchens, and even livestock. The damages were concentrated primarily in the areas of Shagi Banda Teri, Chashmi Akor Khilan, Shahdia Banda, and other affected locales.

The PDMA continues to assess the extent of the devastation and is coordinating relief efforts to support the impacted families and individuals. Recovery and repair work is ongoing, with a focus on the most severely affected structures and areas.
