Hub Launches Extensive Anti-Polio Campaign Targeting Over 90,000 Children

Hub, Deputy Commissioner Rohana Gul Kakar kicked off a major anti-polio campaign in Hub district, aiming to vaccinate approximately 90,825 children under the age of five. The campaign, launched at the EPI center, has mobilized 226 teams across four tehsils to ensure widespread immunization coverage.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the campaign is well-supported with polio vaccine centers established at 18 strategic transit points, and a robust network of 78 area in-charges and 28 UC monitors working across 22 union councils to oversee the vaccination efforts. Deputy Commissioner Kakar emphasized the vaccine’s crucial role in boosting children’s immunity and eradicating polio from the region permanently.

Security measures have been intensified to protect polio workers during this drive, reflecting the district administration’s commitment to the safety of its teams and the success of the vaccination efforts. The initiative also includes collaborative efforts with the neighboring Lasbela district, as part of a broader regional strategy involving 14 districts in Balochistan to combat polio. Additionally, polio evening meetings have been scheduled to coordinate and optimize the campaign’s reach and effectiveness.
