Interior Minister Orders Swift Water Drainage Measures Following Heavy Rains

Islamabad: In response to recent torrential rains, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to ensure efficient water drainage in Islamabad’s low-lying areas to prevent waterlogging and facilitate smooth traffic flow.

According to Press Information Department, the Minister instructed CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa to mobilize all resources for the drainage efforts and to personally oversee the operations. Following these directives, Randhawa visited various affected locations to assess and expedite the drainage processes.

The CDA, along with the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and district administration, have been actively involved, with special teams deployed across both sectoral and non-sectoral areas. Emergency response centers in Islamabad have been activated, and the public has been advised to use helpline numbers for any emergency assistance related to the waterlogging.
