Judicial Commission of Pakistan Nominates New High Court Judges

Islamabad: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan convened two meetings to deliberate on nominations for additional judges in the Islamabad High Court and the High Court of Balochistan. The meetings, held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, resulted in the nomination of five individuals for judicial appointments.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the first meeting saw the nomination of Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan, a District and Session Judge, and Mr. Inaam Ameen Minhas, an Advocate from the Supreme Court, for the Islamabad High Court. These nominations were approved by a majority of the Commission’s total membership.

In the second meeting, the Commission unanimously nominated Mr. Muhammad Asif and Mr. Muhammad Ayub Khan, both Advocates of the Supreme Court, for the High Court of Balochistan. Additionally, Mr. Muhammad Najam-ud-Din Mengal was nominated by a majority for the same court.

The Commission also resolved that nominees who did not achieve the necessary majority for their nomination could be reconsidered for future vacancies.
