Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Directs Immediate Repair of Transformers, Tackles Load Shedding

Peshawar, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, has issued stringent orders for the immediate repair of damaged transformers across the province amid escalating temperatures. He has also mandated measures to curb unscheduled electricity load shedding, emphasizing that even a minute beyond the scheduled outages will not be tolerated.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Chief Minister’s directives came during a meeting with Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar. The meeting, which included key provincial officials like the Advisor on Finance Muzmal Aslam, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, and other senior figures, was held to address the pressing issues of heat-induced power disruptions.

The provincial government has committed to providing the necessary funds to facilitate these urgent repairs. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of collaboration between district administrations and WAPDA officials to ensure that power cuts are kept to the schedule issued by the authorities.

In addition to addressing power and transformer repairs, Chief Minister Gandapur directed attention to the maintenance and prompt repair of roads, especially those leading to major tourist destinations, to support the tourism industry during the peak season. He assured that the government would prioritize funding for such infrastructure projects to enhance the tourist experience in the province.

Furthermore, with the monsoon season approaching, the Chief Minister instructed local administrations to finalize preparations for potential floods to mitigate any adverse effects. He also outlined security measures for the upcoming Muharram observances, particularly in sensitive districts, to ensure peace and safety.

The meeting also covered the preparations for the Shandur Polo Festival, with directives to ensure all necessary facilities are available for tourists at the venue. In anticipation of Eid-ul-Adha, special measures for cleanliness and the proper disposal of sacrificial remains were also discussed.

The Chief Minister’s comprehensive approach not only focuses on immediate infrastructural challenges but also extends to enhancing the overall governance and responsiveness of the provincial administration to the needs of the public.
