Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Leads Meeting to Eradicate Polio

Peshawar, In a significant push toward polio eradication in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a high-level meeting with the Polio and AIDS Board, including representatives from global health organizations such as the World Health Organization and UNICEF. The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing efforts and planning future actions to eliminate the polio virus from the province.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the session addressed the challenges of polio eradication and outlined a coordinated approach to overcome these obstacles. Chief Minister Gandapur expressed a strong commitment to defeating the virus, acknowledging the difficulty of the task but affirming it as achievable with renewed resolve and international cooperation.

He emphasized the importance of community involvement, particularly leveraging local leaders and public representatives to educate and persuade parents about the benefits of polio vaccination. Gandapur assured that for every step partner organizations take towards eradication, the provincial government would take three, underscoring a deep commitment to public health and safety. Special attention was promised for sensitive areas where polio poses a greater risk.
