Minister Denounces Efforts to Incite Unrest in Sargodha, Commends Law Enforcement

Islamabad, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, expressed regret and concern over recent attempts to incite unrest in Sargodha, condemning an incident stemming from blasphemy allegations. The minister lauded the swift action of the Punjab Police and other security agencies in preserving peace and order.

According to Press Information Department, Hussain emphasized the importance of following legal processes in response to blasphemy and warned against individuals taking the law into their own hands. He affirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding all citizens’ rights, irrespective of their religious beliefs, and called for national unity against efforts to foster religious intolerance and spread misinformation online. The minister also highlighted the positive contributions of religious leaders in fostering societal harmony.
