NDMA Issues Flash Flood Advisory for DG Khan Division

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flash flood advisory for the DG Khan Division, warning of potential medium to high-level flooding in the region’s hill torrents and local nullahs due to expected monsoon rains from August 16th to 18th.

According to Press Information Department, the National Emergencies Operation Center anticipates moderate to heavy rainfall in the DG Khan Division, which may lead to significant flooding, potentially damaging infrastructure and affecting villages, towns, and settlements near the flood plains. The NDMA has urged residents in these areas to stay informed by tracking weather updates and following the guidance provided by local authorities.

To aid in timely communication, the NDMA has launched the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert application, available on Google Play Store and iOS App Store, which provides alerts, advisories, and safety guidelines. The authority has also instructed all relevant departments to take necessary precautions to mitigate the potential impacts of the flooding and extreme weather.
