OGDCL and MPCL Advance Initiatives to Alleviate Pakistan’s Energy Crisis

Islamabad: In a concerted effort to address the persistent energy crisis in Pakistan, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) are actively pursuing new projects and exploring gas reserves across the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, OGDCL has recently made significant progress by identifying new gas reserves in Rahim Yar Khan with the assistance of the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Discovered in June, these reserves are located at a depth of approximately two thousand meters.

This discovery is expected to not only bolster the national economy but also restore investor confidence. On a parallel front, MPCL, known for its high exploration success rate of seventy percent, has been credited with discovering new gas fields in the Chagai district, further contributing to the national energy supply.
