Pakistan and Italy to Forge Agreement on Curbing Human Trafficking

Islamabad, Pakistan and Italy are set to finalize a formal agreement aimed at combating human trafficking, following discussions between Italian Ambassador Marilina Armellin and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting underscored a mutual commitment to address the illegal migration of Pakistanis to Italy and to enhance cooperation in legal workforce movements. The upcoming agreement will focus on stringent measures to curb human trafficking and illegal entry, supporting both nations’ efforts to tackle these issues decisively.

Additionally, the talks included proposals to designate Milan and Islamabad as sister cities, reflecting a deeper cultural and social bond between the two countries. Ambassador Armellin lauded Pakistan’s rigorous anti-trafficking measures and expressed Italy’s readiness to support these initiatives.
