Pakistan and Russia Seek to Strengthen Trade Relations

Islamabad, In a meeting aimed at enhancing bilateral trade relations, Russian Ambassador Albert Khorev and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, discussed initiatives to increase trade connectivity and explore new market opportunities. This engagement signals a mutual interest in deepening economic ties and tapping into the potential of both nations’ markets.

According to Press Information Department, the discussions highlighted the successful start of Kino fruit exports from Pakistan to Russia by road, with prospects for expanding trade further in this and other sectors. Minister Jam Kamal stressed the importance of finding new trade routes and avenues, while acknowledging the opportunities presented by Russia’s large market for Pakistani exporters.

The Russian Ambassador extended an invitation to Minister Jam Kamal for upcoming trade exhibitions in Russia, proposing the export of Halal meat from Pakistan as a new venture. The issue of visa difficulties faced by Pakistani truck drivers was also addressed, with Ambassador Khorev committing to explore swift resolutions. Additionally, the desire to convene the 9th session of the Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) in Moscow soon was expressed, underlining the ongoing efforts to foster economic collaboration between Pakistan and Russia.
