Pakistan and The Gambia Pledge to Strengthen Ties and Expand Cooperation

Banjul, Pakistan and The Gambia have committed to revitalizing their bilateral relations, aiming to bolster cooperation in sectors including trade, agriculture, education, and tourism. This agreement was reached during discussions between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Gambian President Adama Barrow, held on the fringes of the 15th OIC Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting highlighted both nations’ intent to deepen engagement and address shared challenges. Mohammad Ishaq Dar extended congratulations to President Barrow for the successful hosting of the summit and for bringing attention to the issue of Islamophobia. Furthermore, Dar offered training programs in Pakistan for Gambian diplomats and military personnel, aiming to enhance skills and foster closer ties.

President Barrow expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s significant participation at the summit, noting the importance of such high-level engagement in strengthening international relations.
