Pakistan Calls for United Effort to Preserve Biodiversity

Islamabad: Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, has called for a united effort to conserve Pakistan’s biodiversity and wildlife habitats, emphasizing the critical role of wildlife rangers in protecting these natural resources.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Alam spoke at an event in Islamabad commemorating World Ranger Day, where she applauded the bravery and dedication of wildlife guards, watchers, and rangers. These individuals play a crucial role in combating wildlife poaching and preserving Pakistan’s ecosystems.

During her address, Alam recognized six wildlife protectors from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan for their exceptional courage and commitment to conservation. She underscored the ongoing challenges posed by climate change to Pakistan’s ecosystems and stressed the importance of enhanced conservation efforts to mitigate these threats and protect the natural heritage for future generations.
