Karachi, October 20, 2019 (PPI-OT): Flourish, Transformation, development, and restoration of old glory culturally and historically, promotion of sports and recreation facilities, revitalization of public libraries, parks, naming the streets and flowerings of footpaths, subtraction of illegal encroachments and settlements, lifting of garbage/trash, welfare projects and many development activities to make again the Karachi into “City of Lights” and peace full city, with the sole efforts by the Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani was commendable one and the pride of his gallant persona and the pride of the city.
This was eulogized by the members of Civil society, and people of all walks of life at simple but impressive ceremony in honour of recognition and services rendered by the senior Bureaucrat Grade 21 officer Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani organized by the Pakistan Excellence Club held at local hotel here today, highlighted his service career achievements and outstanding performance of the Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani, has said that he has proved to be the real son of soil, the impression about bureaucrats that they were not performing, only they minting money and involved in mal practices.
But if any one like Mr. Shallwani seems to be work with whole heartedly, dedication, hardworking and believes in for the welfare and wellbeing of common man, the City, Province and the country will be prosperous and progress besides the names of the parents and teachers were definitely be prominence and adored too. Mr Shallwani had very much Influence of his parents and teachers, as he led in civil service to work for the poors and needy with his mind and thoughts, by continuous playing a positive role and actions.
Speakers had also said that as Sir Walter Bottle had served the city of Karachi with his matchless working, had left many institutions, likewise Mr Shallwani is playing due role and his name will be remembered in the history and without his name and contributions, history of the city was not accomplished. The Commissioner Karachi was praised by the Speakers, they further said that like he is working for the beautification and development of the city, he will do all that which in his mind even one could not be difficult task or assignment, implemented properly.
They hoped that the city will again gain its glory by the steps taken in this regard, we all should collectively work and take efforts in right directions. Earlier the Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani in his guest speaker speech has elaborated his childhood, professional career and contributions and achievements, has said that he was inspired by his father Dr Pir Muhammad Shallwani as he was habits of reading and writings [died in 2001] and got education in St Bona venture school than Public school and after that joined in Medical field but not continued due to the trend choose CSS Exam/career.
He was taught by great and qualitative Teachers like Sir Gabriel, Father Tort and others, there in school with minimal fees of Rs 36 for 3 months, they taught very much high education with extra-curricular activities and regular going in libraries to learn something, asked by the teachers about what we read??? They changed our routine life and guided properly for future destiny. Making new friends was very difficult task, but I had new friends there in Islamabad.
Where served AC UT Lahore, Model Town Mianwali and served there between Grade 17 to 19 and after that even posted in Baluchistan for 4 years, my juniors were promoted in higher grades due to joining in foreign service and worked with World Bank, one time thought to change the career but every time decision was not easy so continued to the civil service, and opt for Sindh to serve here.
As posted Chief economist than became Secretary Law and one day was posted as Commissioner Karachi, since from the day, thanks to political leadership , no one could pressurize and gave tough time not to that and do that but served with own mind to serve the public freely. He further said that during abroad [Japan and South America- Argentina} children grow with quality education besides did many courses and get trainings in the respective fields.
During the present position had faced many difficulties, and by the grace of Allah Almighty fulfilled with courage, for example Empress Market issue, to dispel the negative impression about the operation we did un-biased operation in other parts of city to show that the task not against only the poors but across the board. We had taken many positive steps like holding of Marathon Race, revitalization of Public Libraries, Parks, beautification of Streets, Footpaths, holding of PSL, Various Tournaments, artificial flower baskets installed in the city and promote the wooden work like many countries like Japan, and others. The Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani has asked the civil society Media, Business community and others to come forward and join hands as team to fulfill the task of development and beautification of the city at large scale.

They further said that the city was lucky to had Mr Shallwani which is not only by name Iftikhar but the blessing and pride of the city. Karachi had not owned by any political party but Mr Shallwani had owned and gave ownership to the city.
