DAVOS: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged in significant discussions with major international figures during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The talks centered on enhancing Pakistan’s trade infrastructure and digital inclusivity.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Aurangzeb met with Rizwan Soomar, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of DP World, and Yuvraj Narayan, Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer. The discussions focused on improving infrastructure and logistical frameworks in Pakistan to facilitate trade. Aurangzeb emphasized the government’s commitment to Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) collaborations.
In another engagement, the Finance Minister had an informal meeting with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh. This meeting took place during the inaugural banquet of the World Economic Forum, hosted by Klaus Schwab, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Hilde Schwab, Chairperson of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.
Aurangzeb also met with Kaan Terzioglu, Chief Executive Officer of VEON, and Aamir Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of Jazz. Discussions with these executives revolved around expanding cooperation in Fintech services and enhancing digital inclusivity in Pakistan.
