Pakistan’s IT Minister Discusses Digitalization and E-Safety with Asia Internet Coalition

Islamabad, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, convened a virtual meeting with the Asia Internet Coalition (AIC), focusing on digitalization initiatives, the responsible use of social media, and e-safety measures. The session, which included representatives from major tech companies such as Facebook, Google, and Apple, underscored ongoing government efforts to accelerate digital transformation in collaboration with the private sector.

According to Press Information Department, the dialogue led by AIC Managing Director Jeff Paine, aimed to address the integration of digital rights and safety protocols within the framework of social media platforms. Minister Khawaja highlighted several key government strategies, including the imminent launch of a public-private dialogue platform and the development of various policies tailored to bolster the digital competency of the youth.

The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary of MoITT, Aisha Humera Moriani, and other prominent members from the IT and telecom sectors, emphasizing a unified approach towards sustainable digital development and responsible platform management.
