Islamabad, At the Eleventh Meeting of the Ministers of Justice of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), held virtually and hosted by Kazakhstan, Pakistan’s Law Minister, Mr. Azam Nazeer Tarar, emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and strengthening the rule of law. The meeting served as a platform for SCO member states to commit to collaborative legal and judicial enhancements.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Tarar expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for organizing the meeting and highlighted several key initiatives by Pakistan aimed at modernizing its legal framework within the SCO. These initiatives include the creation of a comprehensive online database of Pakistani laws, the establishment of legal education academies, and the development of advanced forensic capabilities. The Minister also outlined Pakistan’s efforts in arbitration reforms, forensic science development, and legal education enhancement through the Directorate of Legal Education.
The session underscored Pakistan’s role in the SCO as a dynamic partner committed to fostering legal collaborations and shared standards among the member states. Minister Tarar called for deeper cooperation and continuous dialogue to strengthen justice systems and economic ties across the region, illustrating Pakistan’s proactive stance in international legal affairs.
