Pakistan’s Prime Minister Discusses Climate Challenges with UAE President

Islamabad, In a recent telephone conversation, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan reached out to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to express admiration for the UAE’s handling of the challenges posed by recent heavy rains and to discuss broader cooperation on climate change.

According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister praised the UAE President’s leadership during the crisis and highlighted similar challenges faced by Pakistan, which has also been affected by severe rains resulting in significant casualties. He called for enhanced collaborative efforts to address the impacts of climate change.

During the call, the UAE President appreciated the Prime Minister’s sentiments and expressed his concern for those affected by the rains and flooding in Pakistan. Both leaders agreed to strengthen their bilateral cooperation across various sectors, reaffirming their commitment to tackle climate change and other mutual interests together.
