President Asif Ali Zardari Honored with Guard of Honour in Islamabad

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari received a guard of honor at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today as he officially took office as the President of Pakistan. The ceremony was a traditional display of respect and protocol for the newly inducted head of state.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ceremonial guard of honor was performed by well-drilled contingents of the Armed Forces of Pakistan. The national anthem accompanied the proceedings while President Zardari inspected the troops. This was followed by formal introductions between the President and the staff of the Aiwan-e-Sadr, signifying the start of his presidential duties.
