President Zardari and Premier Li Discuss Economic and Strategic Ties

Beijing: President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the Great Hall of the People, focusing on the enhancement of bilateral relations and economic partnerships. During the meeting, President Zardari emphasized the importance of the China-Pakistan “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with China, highlighting the mutually beneficial nature of their relationship.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the leaders discussed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its role in promoting regional connectivity and economic growth. President Zardari expressed appreciation for China’s support of Pakistan’s development efforts and highlighted the need for further collaboration under CPEC 2.0. This includes deepening cooperation in sectors such as renewable energy, science and technology, infrastructure, and agriculture.

The discussions also explored opportunities to enhance trade and economic cooperation through business-to-business and private sector partnerships. Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding people-to-people and cultural exchanges to foster a closer China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future in the New Era.
