Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has given his approval to three significant legislative measures, marking a step forward in Pakistan’s legal framework concerning electronic crimes and gender equality.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari has assented to “The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Amendment Bill, 2025,” which aims to reinforce the legal structure against cybercrimes in the country. This bill is part of a broader initiative to address the growing challenges in the digital sphere.
Additionally, “The Digital Nation Pakistan Bill, 2025” has received presidential approval. This legislation is intended to support the development of a digital infrastructure across Pakistan, promoting a digital economy and fostering technological advancements.
In a move towards enhancing gender equality, President Zardari has also signed “The National Commission on the Status of Women (Amendment) Bill 2025.” This bill seeks to strengthen the commission’s role in advocating for women’s rights and addressing issues related to gender discrimination.
