President Zardari Welcomes New Foreign Envoys in Islamabad

Islamabad: Today, President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed the presentation of diplomatic credentials by envoys from seven countries, emphasizing Pakistan’s intent to strengthen international ties and enhance economic cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the credentials ceremony saw participation from Zimbabwe, Tajikistan, Rwanda, Argentina, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Botswana. The envoys included Mr. Titus Mehliswa Jonathan Abu-Basutu from Zimbabwe, Mr. Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir from Tajikistan, Ms. Harerimana Fatou from Rwanda, Mr. Sebastian Sayus from Argentina, Mr. Wunna Han from Myanmar, Mr. Sok Chea from Cambodia, and Dr. Batlang Comma Serema from Botswana.

During subsequent individual meetings with the President, discussions focused on exploring investment opportunities within Pakistan, particularly in agriculture, livestock, IT, energy, and mining sectors. President Zardari articulated a vision for broadening cooperation across diverse fields such as trade, investment, and culture. He stressed the importance of enhancing economic ties and maximizing trade volume to realize the full potential of these international relationships.

The envoys were also accorded a guard of honor by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at the President House, marking the formal start of their diplomatic missions in Pakistan.
