Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commits to TB Elimination on World TB Day

Islamabad, In observance of World TB Day 2024, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has issued a powerful message, recognizing the tireless efforts of those battling tuberculosis and reaffirming the government’s commitment to eradicating the disease. The Prime Minister emphasized the crucial role of continued innovation, research, and the utilization of technology in accelerating Pakistan’s journey towards becoming TB-free. He highlighted tuberculosis as a significant global health challenge and stressed the importance of prioritizing its elimination.

According to Press Information Department, the government has launched various programs and policies aimed at combating TB and improving public health. Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the suffering caused by TB and the urgent need to address it as a public health priority. He called for increased resource allocation for TB elimination and praised the combined efforts of the private sector and international partners in this endeavor.
