Punjab Governor approves Workers Participation Amendment Ordinance 2020

Islamabad, December 04, 2020 (PPI-OT): Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has accorded approval to the Workers Participation Amendment Ordinance 2020. According to a notification issued by the Governor House in Lahore on Friday, under this amendment Ordinance, all private limited companies will be bound to distribute five percent of their annual profits among workers. After individual payments, companies will be required to deposit the remaining amount in the Welfare Fund. The money raised through the fund will be used for the education, health, and welfare of the workers.
