Quetta Seminar Promotes Women’s Inclusion in Police Force

Quetta, A seminar at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, co-hosted with UNODC and Women Police, focused on encouraging the inclusion of women in the police force, highlighting the critical role of gender diversity in enhancing law enforcement.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani, the chief guest, lauded the efforts of women police officers and the university’s administration for fostering an environment that supports educational programs aimed at empowering women. Minister Durrani pledged continued support for the university’s mission to provide quality education.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sajida Noreen commended the Organizations Committee for executing a successful seminar and stressed the importance of women’s participation across various professional fields, particularly in policing, to combat gender-based violence. DIG Qamarul Hasan recognized the university’s contribution to raising awareness about women’s education and noted an increase in female recruits from the province into the police force.

Speakers at the event, including SP Pri Gul Tareen and Chairperson of the Status of Women Fauzia Shaheen, emphasized the necessity of awareness programs for integrating women into policing roles, praising the event’s role in informing students about opportunities and challenges in law enforcement careers for women.
