Sindh Chief Minister Seeks Investment from Gulf and German Investors

Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has extended an invitation to investors from Gulf countries and Germany to explore profitable investment opportunities in Sindh, emphasizing the province’s strategic location and rich resources. The Chief Minister made these remarks during meetings with the consuls general of Qatar, Oman, and the German consul at the Chief Minister House in Karachi.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the discussions with Mr. Rudiger Lutz of Germany, Mr. Naif Shaheen of Qatar, and Engineer Sami Abdullah Al Khanjari of Oman focused on the potential for economic cooperation and the advantages Sindh offers to investors. The province’s sea connections and trade potential were highlighted as key factors making it an attractive destination for foreign investment.

The Chief Minister announced plans for a road show in Gulf countries to further promote Sindh as an investment hub. With Oman, he explored enhancing bilateral trade and mooted the idea of improved connectivity through a bridge between Gwadar and Oman, proposed by President Asif Zardari, to boost trade and people-to-people links.

In his meeting with Qatar’s representative, Shah underscored the strong relations between Qatar and Sindh and outlined the support mechanisms in place for Qatari investors in the province. The Qatari Consul General expressed interest in bringing a trade delegation to Sindh to investigate these opportunities.

Regarding Germany, Shah referenced the successful operations of German companies in Karachi and expressed eagerness to expand German investment in Sindh, particularly noting the efforts to ease business processes in collaboration with the World Bank. The German Consul General confirmed plans for a German investor delegation’s visit to Karachi, aiming to establish fruitful economic ties with the region.
