SMBR Holds Meeting to Review IT-Based Reforms

Lahore, July 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Senior Member Board of Revenue Punjab Nabeel Javed chaired a meeting at his office to review the progress of IT-based reforms in BoR on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Tariq Qureshi, Member (Taxes); Muhammad Khan Ranjha, Member (Colonies); Chief Settlement Commissioner; DG Punjab Lands Record Authority; Secretary (Revenue), Mehr Shafqatullah Mushtaq; Chairman and DG of PITB, along with other officials. Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf and others provided briefings on the ongoing IT reforms in the Board of Revenue.

SMBR Nabeel Javed highlighted that the collection of future agriculture taxes would be transitioned to digital platforms, emphasizing the importance of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in developing automation software for the Board of Revenue. He stressed the need for continuous enhancements in the Central Farmers Database and emphasized the improvement of services related to digital land records and e-stamping systems.

SMBR Nabeel Javed emphasized the significance of strengthening the existing system to ensure the seamless provision of essential information regarding ongoing cases in revenue courts. The complete digitization of the Board of Revenue is underway, aiming to establish unparalleled transparency, streamline processes, and ensure the secure management of records while saving valuable time, he added. Moreover, SMBR directed DG PLRA to focus diligently on land record centers and rural revenue centers, ensuring the provision of improved facilities to the public. He also emphasized the need for strict actions against any corrupt individuals, underscoring the significance of institutional transparency as a top priority.
