Water Level in Chenab, Ravi Rivers Continuously Rising: PDMA Punjab

Lahore: Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab says there is extremely high flood in Ravi River at Head Sidhnai and upstream is 168,000 cusecs. The Director General, PDMA Punjab has said controlled breaching has been carried out at Head Sidhnai to safeguard major urban centers and critical infrastructure. He said that two breaches were made at Mai Safforan bund to prevent large-scale damage.

According to Radio Pakistan, the water level in Chenab River is continuously rising at Head Marala, and it was recorded at three hundred and eighty-four thousand cusecs. In a statement today, PDMA Spokesperson said at Khanki, the water level is two hundred ninety-seven thousand, and at Qadirabad, it is two hundred and thirteen thousand cusecs. The water level at Head Muhammad Wala is recorded at four hundred and eleven thousand cusecs.

Meanwhile, rescue and relief activities are in progress in Burewala, Vehari, Mailsi, Lodhran Kehror Pacca, and Jalal Pur Pirwala in South Punjab where the high-level flood in Sutlej River has affected a huge population of the area.
