Pakistan and Turkiye Strengthen Defense Ties with Focus on Modern Warfare

Islamabad: A high-level delegation led by Commander of the Turkish Air Force, General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, the Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, in Islamabad. The discussions focused on the evolving regional security environment, ongoing defense collaboration, and future joint engagements in modern warfare.

According to Radio Pakistan, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, which are founded on shared religious beliefs, aspirations, and strategic alignment. He noted that the arrival of Turkish cadets at PAF Academy Asghar Khan for training marks a significant milestone in the relationship between the two air forces, highlighting mutual trust and a shared vision for developing the next generation of air warriors.

Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across multiple areas, especially joint training, mutual exercises, and multi-domain operations. General Kadioglu praised the Pakistan Air Force’s operational performance and readiness during the recent conflict with India, expressing an interest in the PAF’s multi-domain warfare strategies.

The Turkish leadership showed interest in learning from Pakistan’s experiences in the military standoff with India to strengthen their own doctrine and enhance preparedness. The Turkish delegation also appreciated the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, acknowledging the PAF’s capabilities in aerospace innovation and technological advancement.

The visit underscores the mutual resolve of Pakistan and Turkiye to enhance strategic cooperation, reinforce bilateral defense relations, and promote enduring institutional ties between their armed forces. Upon arrival at the Air Headquarters in Islamabad, the Turkish delegation received a warm welcome, with a Guard of Honour presented by a contingent of the Pakistan Air Force.
