World Heritage Day Commemorated with Focus on Disasters and Conflicts

Islamabad, World Heritage Day was observed on Thursday, bringing attention to the preservation of cultural heritage in the face of disasters and conflicts, under the theme “Disasters and Conflicts Through the Lens of the Venice Charter.”

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the day’s observance serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting and conserving heritage sites, especially considering the increasing threats posed by natural disasters and human-induced conflicts. The Venice Charter, a foundational document in heritage conservation, provides the framework for discussions and actions taken to safeguard cultural sites under such challenging circumstances.
