Islamabad: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has labeled the Al-Qadir Trust case as a significant corruption scandal involving a hefty sum of 190 million pounds. He emphasized that those implicated will be held accountable and face the consequences of their actions.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar addressed a news conference in Islamabad, highlighting that a verdict was expected to be announced, but the accused were absent. He criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder for allegedly employing delaying tactics.
Tarar argued that individuals with a clear record would not seek adjournments or change their legal counsel. He also accused the involved parties of laundering money through the trust.
PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry also commented during the event, asserting that the Al-Qadir Trust case is straightforward and that those involved will not evade sentencing. He firmly stated that there would be no discussion of granting an NRO to the accused.
