Deputy Prime Minister Dar Pleased with Progress at Jagran-2 Hydropower Plant

Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed his approval of the ongoing construction of the Jagran-2 Hydropower Plant, which is set to enhance power generation and foster local development upon completion.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his visit to the 50MW power plant, Dar was briefed on the project’s adherence to the scheduled timeline, with completion expected in 2025. He commended the efforts of the teams involved, including Chinese engineers and the Pakistani workforce, and relayed the government’s commitment to ensuring full support for the project’s timely completion. Dar also indicated plans to expedite necessary approvals to accelerate progress. The project is anticipated to significantly benefit the local community through improvements in employment, education, agriculture, industrial development, and tourism.
