Federal Cabinet Greenlights Formation of Prime Minister’s Skills Development Company

Islamabad: In a significant move to boost vocational training, the Federal Cabinet has approved the creation of the Prime Minister’s Skills Development Company, aimed at implementing technical and vocational training programs across the nation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the decision came during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned a memorandum of understanding between Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan to enhance cooperation in e-commerce.

Another key approval involved the transition of operations for the King Hamad University of Nursing and Associated Medical Sciences to the National University of Medical Sciences, based on a recommendation from the Ministry of National Health Services. The meeting also covered legal developments, specifically the recent Supreme Court verdict in the Mubarak Sani case, with the cabinet being informed about a petition filed by the federal government following discussions in the National Assembly.

The Attorney General of Pakistan is set to represent the government at the upcoming Supreme Court hearing, armed with perspectives from ulema and the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice.
