Kashmiri women worst victim of Indian state terrorism: Mushaal

Islamabad, March 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organization (PCO), Mushaal Hussein Mullick, has said that the Kashmiri women are the worst victim of Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She was speaking at a seminar on “Struggle of Kashmiri Women Living under Indian Occupation” organized by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) University and Youth Forum for Kashmir in Islamabad, today.

Mushaal lashed out the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government for using women as a weapon of war in IIOJK whose lives, security, dignity and honour have been snatched by Indian troops to suppress the freedom movement. She said that the women had played a critical role in shaping the freedom movement and advocating for their deprived fundamental rights. She lauded the role and contributions of the Kashmiri women in the ongoing struggle in the occupied territory to break the shackle of Indian subjugation.

Mushaal, the wife of illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, said that the ongoing fascism by Indian forces badly impacted the women’s physical and mental health. She stated that the women of the occupied territory have been facing systematic and widespread human rights violations including sexual assault, rape, disappearance, torture, abductions, killing and humiliation by the Indian Army, police, secret agencies and India-sponsored terrorist groups.

The Hurriyat leader deplored that the Indian forces were using rape as a weapon of war and a tool to suppress the peaceful struggle for the right to self-determination in IIOJK. However, she maintained that despite resorting to the worst state terrorism, India could not defuse the flames of the freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir. She urged the international community and world powers to take cognizance of the Indian brutalities in the occupied territory.
