Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Not Being Abolished, Aims for Right Sizing

Islamabad: In response to media reports suggesting the abolition of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, among others, a clarification has been issued to address the inaccuracies circulating.

According to Press Information Department, the “Committee on the Right Sizing of the Federal Government” has requested recommendations from respective ministries to appropriately adjust the size of their attached departments, rather than eliminate any ministries outright.

This move comes amid broader discussions on how to streamline government operations and ensure that each department operates with efficiency and efficacy. The Committee’s focus is on optimization and enhancing the functionality of the federal government rather than reducing its scope arbitrarily.
