Pakistan and World Bank Focus on Effective Utilization of Development Resources

Washington DC, Pakistan and the World Bank have reached an agreement on the effective utilization of resources from the International Development Association (IDA) to boost Pakistan’s development initiatives. The agreement was finalized during a meeting between Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and the World Bank’s Senior Managing Director Axel Van Trotsenburg.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions also touched on leveraging the World Bank’s Knowledge Centre to augment Pakistan’s developmental efforts. This collaboration aims to enhance the strategic use of IDA resources in various sectors across Pakistan, which are vital for the country’s ongoing economic reforms and developmental strategies.

The meeting underscores a strengthened partnership between Pakistan and the World Bank, focusing on a mutual commitment to ensuring that IDA contributions are used efficiently for the intended developmental outcomes.
